I saw a sign that said you should park there if you want to go strike with SEPTA. (Alternately, if you’re a bum who was looking to take a piss in a SEPTA station where nobody would bother to clean it up, you could always just do it all over the Official Strike Parking street instead.)

Look, here’s the thing: the public transportation in Philly is way too shitty for any policymaker or anyone with any money or influence or power at all to ride it. The people who ride SEPTA and depend on SEPTA and suffer when SEPTA stops running are lower and middle class people who have to make their way through this filthy hellhole trying to avoid getting gobbled up by the same murderous and economy-stricken bullshit as the poor striking schmucks.

Preventing us from traveling to the places that put food on our tables isn’t going to make us sympathetic to your plight, and it’s not going to make us write in and tell our local whoevers to give SEPTA more money (during a goddamn recession, no less!). It’s going to make us vote for whoever stands up to you greedy pricks and keeps you from getting your lazy, rotten hands on our hard-earned cash.

If I see a campaign poster that says MARK WHATEVERSON: I AM TOUGH ON TERRORISM AND GREEDY STRIKING SEPTA BOZOS, I will vote my ass off.
